Manifesto
Milano, Salone del Mobile.
The International Salone del Mobile is one of the most lively, interesting and stimulating event that takes place in Milan.
The fair itself is the most important design and furniture show of the world, and the “Salone Satellite” and “Fuori Salone” make this exhibition even more exciting and accessible to the whole city. Thousands of architects, journalists, designers, students and others come to Milan from all over the world and, for one week everyone lives the magic, the city becomes a center of communication, exchange of ideas and perspectives.
In occasione of 2006 design week, the idea of Cibicworkshop was to confront the public with the concept of design, how it is felt and what it represents.
The storefront window of La Rinascente Department Store became a pressroom with an area dedicated to interviewing our guests, who ranged from designers, manufacturers and journalists; but included also politicians, historians, entrepreneurs from various fields, artists, philosophers….. and passers-by who wish to express their opinion.
What does design mean to you?
What object do you love and what object would you like in your life?
What do you like and what would you like to see in your city?
At the same time, a small troupe was going around to invite people to participate, interviewing on the streets.
The interactive window was open during specific hours, when the “actors” are off, the window was animated by screens that will transmit exerpts of the interviews.
On www.perchedesign.com you can view all the interview realized during the week from Cibicworkshop Youtube Channel.
